How We Understand
Clinical Overview
Integrated within the educational, day, and residential components is an active clinical service program under the direction of a licensed psychiatrist. Each student participates in a therapeutic program that includes individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management and ongoing medication and behavioral evaluations. Our clinical services include twenty-four hour crisis intervention and clinical coverage, case management, transition/discharge planning, individual, family, and group therapy (social skills, trauma, sexual reactivity, substance abuse, negative peer cultures, conflict resolution and anger management).
Cooperation and advocacy with agencies regarding treatment and discharge plans provide continuity in the individual's treatment and ensure continued success in family and community settings.
Eagleton has the resources available to provide specialized group therapy to victims of sexual abuse and to sexually reactive students. Therapy focuses on helping the student come to terms with his feelings of rage, worthlessness, and shame, while also teaching him safety plans to safeguard against repeating the cycle of abuse and further victimization.
