Field Trips

tourbusOur close proximity to both Boston and New York City enables us to take advantage of the  available shopping, museums and cultural activities in the immediate area as well as in the nearby cities.  Over the last year our field trip program has expanded considerably. Field trips occur each month and this year have included or are planned to include:

  • New York Museum of Natural History
  • Bronx Zoo
  • Bronx Garden
  • Six Flags theme park
  • Boston Aquarium
  • Basketball Hall of Fame
  • Hayden Planetarium
  • Statue of Liberty
  • Empire State Building
  • Professional Sports Games

The field trips, recreational activities, and clubs offer students opportunities for learning experiences which develop interests that otherwise might not be available to them. Participants in gardening and science groups explore life, the earth and stars, energy, or any other topic the group wishes to study. Other clubs explore various areas of interest to the group members. The activities provide opportunities for the children to utilize relationship, team, and confidence building, as well as social skills that are being taught and modeled by staff. Additionally, all activities are designed to be fun.
