Recreational and Student Activities

footballA broad and varied recreational and activities program has been developed at Eagleton inspired by the interests of the students and the opportunities our location provides. Clubs, Sports, and Student Government are available to all students who reside at Eagleton School.

There are a wide variety of clubs residents participate in at least one afternoon each week. The students select from a group of clubs that include: chess, model trains, sewing, science, gardening, skiing, poetry, craft, skating, soccer, bowling, hiking, and music. The Student Council develops these clubs and they change throughout the course of the year depending upon the season.

Another distinctive program at Eagleton is our Student Council. Representatives from each residence develop an agenda of school issues that is addressed twice a month at an all-school meeting. The Student Council also plans monthly level three and level four field trips.

basketball2Eagleton has a varsity Basketball team which competes with area schools. As part of Eagleton’s commitment to maintaining close community connections, Eagleton School participates in a sports conference made up of other special education schools throughout western Massachusetts. There is also a variety of intramural sports available for student participation including softball and volleyball.
